This Waxy Brown Walnut edition comes in two sizes: Standard (84cm) and XL (89cm), measured as overall chair height. If you are tall, the XL gives you more chair to sit back into. Ivory Walnut is also available as a Tall edition, standing at 93cm; our other finishes come in Standard (84cm).

Standard vs XL: which size to choose

These bands are our own sizing guide, not a formal standard. Leg and back length vary between people of the same height, so if you are close to 178cm, do the two-step test below.

The sitting-height home test (2 steps)

1. Measure your knee height. Sit on a firm dining chair with your feet flat and your thighs level. Measure from the floor to the crease behind your knee.
2. Measure your sitting height. Sit upright against a wall and measure from the seat to the top of your head.

The Standard chair has a 42cm seat height and an 84cm overall height. Send us your height and both measurements and we will tell you which size suits you before you order.

Prefer a quicker check? Use a chair where your head or neck is properly supported - a recliner, a car seat, or your current lounge chair. Measure from the seat surface to the top of the backrest or headrest that supports you. Around 40-44cm: the Standard will feel similar. Around 45-49cm: the XL is the closer match. 50cm or more: ask us before ordering. If your only reference is a dining chair with no head support, skip this and send us your three measurements instead.

No dangling heels: the ottoman check

When you lean back, your heels should rest on the ottoman cushion, not hang off its far edge. The ottoman is free-standing, so you choose the gap, and taller sitters usually pull it a little further from the chair.

To check at home, sit back with your legs straight out and measure from the front edge of the seat to your heels. Place the ottoman so that point lands in the middle of its cushion.
