Ribbed Office Chairs

Ribbed office chairs on chrome-plated aluminium bases, from £325. The ribbed thin-pad design gives the sharpest, most architectural profile in our office range — a single continuous panel of horizontal ribs on a polished aluminium base with castors.

Specification

The low-back EA117 style measures 94–103cm overall with a 48–57cm adjustable seat height and a 53cm seat width. Armrests sit 27cm above the seat. The high-back EA119 thin-pad style runs 106–116cm overall on the same seat platform, with 37cm armrests 70–79cm from the floor.

Where ribbed works best

Because the pad is thin and the silhouette flat, these chairs take up less visual space than soft pad equivalents. That makes them the better choice in a room where the chair is on show — an open-plan living space, a studio, or a desk in a bedroom — and where you would rather not have a large upholstered object in the corner.

The trade-off is cushioning. A thin pad is firmer and gives less over a long day. If you routinely sit for four hours or more without getting up, look at the soft pad range instead.

Low back or high back

Low back supports the lumbar and mid-back and tucks fully under a desk. High back adds head and neck support and suits taller users and longer sessions. Both use the same 48–57cm seat height, which fits standard UK desks of 72–75cm.

Delivery and assembly

UK delivery only. Delivery is free on every product. Dispatched within 1–3 business days, delivery usually takes 5–10 business days after dispatch. Arrives part-assembled, typically under 10 minutes to finish, with a 2-year warranty.
