Office

Thirty-one mid-century style office chairs across four families — ribbed thin-pad, soft pad, mesh and executive lobby seating. Prices start at £295. Every chair on this page uses a gas-lift mechanism, a 360-degree swivel and a polished aluminium base with castors.

Choosing a back height

Back height is the decision that matters most, and it depends on how long you sit and whether you want head support.

  • Low back (94–103cm overall) — ribbed and mesh EA117-style chairs. Supports the lumbar and mid-back only. Best for desks in living spaces, or where the chair tucks fully under a table and you do not want a tall silhouette in the room.
  • Medium back (91–101cm overall) — EA217-style soft pad. A deeper 63cm seat with cushioned panels, aimed at longer sitting sessions.
  • High back (101–117cm overall) — EA219 soft pad and EA119 thin pad. These carry the head and neck and are the right choice for full working days.

Every chair in the range shares a 53cm seat width and a 48–57cm adjustable seat height, which suits standard UK desks of 72–75cm.

Ribbed, soft pad or mesh?

The trade-off is climate and appearance rather than comfort. Ribbed thin-pad leather gives the sharpest, most architectural profile and the slimmest footprint. Soft pad adds separately cushioned panels — noticeably more forgiving over long sessions, and visually heavier. Mesh is the one to choose for a warm room or a south-facing home office, since the back breathes rather than trapping heat.

Executive and lobby seating

The ES104-style lobby chair sits apart from the desk chairs: W69 × D70.5–84cm, 89–95cm high, with a lower 41.5–47.5cm seat. It is built for reception areas and meeting rooms rather than daily desk work.
