eames-style-ea119-thin-pad-high-back-executive-chair-beige
Eames Style EA119 Thin Pad High Back Executive Chair – Beige

The high back, for the long days

The difference between a good desk chair and one you actually want to sit in is usually the top 20 centimetres. This version carries the frame a full head-height higher than the low back, which changes how the chair works: you can lean back into it, let your neck go, and think. Reclining is no longer something you do only when you stand up.

It comes from the same mid-century school of aluminium seating that first appeared in 1958 — structure made visible rather than upholstered over. That honesty is why the shape has outlasted almost everything designed alongside it.

The aluminium-framed executive chair follows the design language introduced by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958. This is an inspired interpretation of that design, not the licensed original.

Aluminium, Chrome-Plated

The side rails are cast aluminium, chromed and then hand-buffed until the finish reflects properly. Machine polishing gets you shiny; hand-buffing gets you depth, and on a chair this size the eye notices. The five-star base and its five castors are finished to match.

Despite the height, the chair stays genuinely light — aluminium does the structural work without the mass of a steel frame. You can move it across a room without planning the manoeuvre.

Seat and back are formed from a single suspended panel, finished with hand-stitched ribbing that runs in horizontal seams across the full height of the back.

Adjustment

Gas-lift seat height, 48–57 cm

Tilt with locking upright position

360° swivel

Five twin-wheel castors

Where it earns its keep

This is the boardroom and private-office version. Behind a desk you sit at for six hours it makes an obvious case; at the head of a meeting table it makes a different one. Pairs naturally with walnut, oak and glass, and reads well against both white walls and darker schemes.

A low back version is available if you want visual consistency across a room without repeating the same chair, and alternative upholstery colours can be arranged.
